Job Summary
Project Manager for NYC Department of Finance FIT Division to lead and manage IT project initiatives across agile, waterfall, or hybrid methodologies. Responsibilities include reviewing project proposals for scope, timeframes, funding and staffing; defining scope, deliverables, milestones, and activities; coordinating internal staff and external vendors/consultants; managing risk and maintaining risk registers; ensuring alignment to success criteria and QA testing; documenting and turnover to Change Management and Operations; coordinating multiple high-complexity projects within a distributed IT environment; and supporting day-1 readiness and post-implementation support. May be eligible for remote work up to 2 days per week under the Remote Work Pilot Program.
Required Qualifications
- A master's degree in computer science or equivalent IT-related field AND three (3) years of progressively responsible full-time IT experience including applications development, systems development, data communications and networking, database administration, data processing or user services; at least 18 months in an administrative/managerial/supervisory capacity; or
- Bachelor's degree with four (4) years of progressive IT experience as described; or
- High school diploma or equivalent with six (6) years of progressive IT experience as described; or
- Substitution options allowing credit for education/experience with the required criteria and supervisor experience; must have at least a four-year high school diploma or equivalent; and three years of the described experience including 18 months in supervisory capacity.
