Job Summary
Project Manager for Caracara Trails leads coalition-building and coordination of multimodal active transportation initiatives across partners (Cdcb, Valley Baptist Legacy Foundation, Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, University of Texas School of Public Health, and multiple municipalities). Responsibilities include organizing 4-6 Advisory Committee meetings annually, coordinating Working Groups (US Bicycle Routes, Texas Paddling Trails, Marketing, Research), engaging local government and nonprofits, cultivating partners and spokespeople, and planning public events (Opening Day, groundbreakings, ribbon-cuttings). Requires identifying partners to support trail network gaps, gathering GIS data to assess trails, land ownership, and access, and collaborating on conceptual plans and shovel-ready projects with RTC Trail Development Staff and RGVMPO. Manages fundraising and grant deliverables, develops budgets, and reports outcomes. Represents the project to public audiences; supervises the Caracara Trails Coordinator. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of related experience (or equivalent), GIS and Excel proficiency, English fluency, Spanish desired, valid driver’s license, and experience with Adobe Creative Suite a plus. Strong facilitation, relationship-building, and communication skills are essential for stakeholder engagement and achieving project milestones.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from four year college or university or higher; and three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
