Job Summary
Scoping and implementing Business Analysis methodologies to deliver structured outputs and client value. Document As-Is and To-Be states, conduct gap analysis, and manage requirement backlogs across the project lifecycle. Elicit, capture, and prioritize requirements while supporting Data Analysts in producing systems models and reports. Validate data accuracy, test systems against requirements, and perform assurance checks on implemented solutions. Prepare formal progress reports, liaise with clients and contractors, and support the development of new commercial service opportunities. Engage in workshops and process modelling to enable successful delivery of technical solutions within the Defence & National Security sector.
Required Qualifications
- Very high level UK government security clearance
- Previous experience in consultancy and delivery within the National Security sector
- Experience of working in Agile development teams
- Good analytic and strong numeracy skills
- Ability to understand and present data in different representations
- System access control: analysis, requirements capture and specify data security protocols and user permissions
- Information lineage and provenance: Track and document data origins, transformations, and movement
- Validation and Insight: Verify data accuracy and extract meaningful insights for decision-making
- Proficient in working with cloud-based solutions for data management and analysis
- Ability to elicit and translate technical requirements from non-technical stakeholders to a team of data specialists
- Candidates MUST already hold a very high level UK government security clearance
- This is an essential criteria of the role
- Candidates would be expected to travel supporting the delivery of the commissions
- Future flexibility would be advantageous
- Candidates must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills
- Ability to adapt to and embed into different client environments
- Candidates will be expected to engage with clients
- Comfortable in leading workshops, process modelling, and the requirements management lifecycle
- Scoping and implementing best practice Business Analysis methodologies in a client environment
- Documenting the As-Is state for a variety of outputs, including processes, systems landscapes and user journeys
- Working alongside stakeholders to identify To-Be state
- Documenting gap analysis wherever relevant
- Elicitation, capture and prioritisation of requirements at all stages of the project lifecycle
- Continuing management of backlogs
- Coherence of requirements capture best practice across workstreams
- Managing data capture and validation
- Supporting Data Analysts in the production of systems and models
- Analysis of model output, producing reports and commentary
- Supporting client's use of model outputs for decision making
- Testing of systems and models against requirements
- Conducting assurance checks of implemented systems and models
- Supporting technical solution outputs to BAU services
- Preparing written project communication materials
- Preparing formal project progress and other reports
- Liaising with the client, contractors and designers
- SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable
Desired Qualifications
- Business Analysis qualifications such as BCS or IIBA
- Extensive experience (alternative to qualifications)
- An understanding of technical solutions' capabilities
- Power BI

- Cloud platform services
- Comfortable working alongside technical developer teams
- Ability to elicit and translate technical requirements from non-technical stakeholders to a team of data specialists
- Basic understanding of languages such as VBA and SQL
- Ability, or the desire to learn
- Data modelling: Analyse, design and optimise data structures to represent complex information
- Data quality: Investigate and identify action to ensure data integrity, consistency, and reliability across systems
- Data architecture: Understanding of IT architectural concepts
- Knowledge of Programme and Project Management software such as Primavera P6, Contruent, SAP, Prism
- Degree in an analytic subject
- Future flexibility would be advantageous
- Supporting the growth of the Digital Business Analysis service offering by preparing presentations and other materials for client pitches, internal and external comms
- Inputting key information into the Turner & Townsend internal database tools
- Supporting junior Business Analyst's career growth, with coaching and line management opportunities if desired
