Job Summary
Manage multiple building science and building envelope projects concurrently, performing field reviews, testing, investigations, and data collection to conduct condition assessments, failure investigations, diagnosis, and remediation evaluations. Prepare technical reports, specifications, and supporting documentation while completing design assignments of varying scope and complexity. Apply technical methods and engineering principles to solve project-specific challenges, utilizing AutoCAD to support project design and documentation requirements. Oversee field reviews, testing programs, and project inspections to verify compliance with contract documents, applicable building codes, and industry standards. Act as the primary liaison between clients, contractors, manufacturers, and project stakeholders, providing technical guidance and support to field technicians. Coordinate project billing inputs and job costing information while managing project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Required Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Engineering or Engineering Technology with a focus in Building Science, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Registered, or eligible for registration, as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with the applicable provincial regulatory body
- Minimum 5+ years of project coordination, project management, or consulting experience within building science, building envelope, engineering, or a related industry
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and the Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong technical writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills
- Exceptional attention to detail, particularly regarding technical accuracy and completeness of documentation
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced consulting environment
- Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and solve problems proactively
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to quality service
- Physical demands including standing, sitting, climbing ladders, bending, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, hearing, driving a motor vehicle to job sites, and lifting/moving up to 50 pounds
