Job Summary
Champion and influence Atkinson's Safety Culture by walking the project with foremen and crew to ensure accountability, making on-the-spot adjustments regardless of time or cost impacts, and following up on agreed-on actions without delay. Oversee the entirety of a project by creating plans that outline tasks, timelines, and resources required to achieve goals, while managing risk and monitoring progress against the schedule and budget. Lead client relations and revenue tracking to ensure accurate cost estimates and future forecasting, contributing to winning new work through estimating and proposal efforts. Manage stakeholders by communicating clearly, providing support, and holding the team accountable for deadlines while practicing win-win negotiation. This active, hands-on role requires significant commitment, including flexibility to work extended hours and respond to time-sensitive matters or emergencies. Base salary ranges from $100,000 to $190,000.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 8-10 years of engineering and general contracting experience on $30M to $250M+ complex, self-perform, heavy-civil construction projects
- Undergraduate degree in engineering, construction management, or related discipline; or similar field or equivalent work experience
- High degree of initiative, independence, personal responsibility, and integrity
- Willingness to speak up, listen up, ask open-ended questions, and learn from others
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment

- Visual acuity for reading plans and inspecting work

- Comfortable in all kinds of weather and moderate to loud noise levels
- Willingness to work extended hours, especially during critical project phases or client deadlines

- Ability to monitor and respond to communications (phone calls, emails, text messages) as required
