Job Summary
Collaborate with the Principal to evaluate project requirements, negotiate owner-architect agreements, and coordinate contractor bid reviews. Demonstrate mastery of project scope, profitability, schedule, and budget by developing cost and work-hour budgets while monitoring completion status against timelines. Negotiate critical issues with top-level architects, engineers, and officials, oversee correspondence and document accuracy, and provide coaching to team leaders on workflow and timelines. Provide day-to-day leadership in the absence of the Principal, assist with client billing preparation, and direct, organize, and mentor junior staff. Manage multiple challenging projects simultaneously to deliver solutions on budget and schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Your registered architect license (preferably in California)
- 15+ years of professional experience honed on increasingly more complex projects
- Experience with the State Fire Marshal and Division of the State Architect is important
- Familiarity with LEED accreditation and the Design/Build project delivery method is preferred
- Proficiency with Revit, SketchUp and other industry accepted software is desirable
- Expertise with Project Management software and Microsoft Office products is necessary
