Job Summary
Manage large-scale data center fiber infrastructure projects, including backbone fiber installations, mass fusion splicing, and cross-connect deployments across hyperscale and enterprise environments. Direct fiber splicing crews, coordinate material procurement, and oversee construction phases from planning through closeout while ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer specifications. Develop project schedules, interpret design packages, and lead troubleshooting for connectivity issues using OTDRs and optical testing equipment. Serve as the primary interface for customers, contractors, and internal teams to drive safe, on-time, and on-budget delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Construction Management, Telecommunications, Engineering Technology, or a related field
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing fiber optic construction, splicing, or telecommunications infrastructure projects
- Extensive knowledge of Ribbon fusion splicing
- Extensive knowledge of Fiber optic network deployment
- Extensive knowledge of Fiber testing and commissioning
- Extensive knowledge of Data center fiber infrastructure
- Extensive knowledge of High-count backbone cable installations
- Strong understanding of fiber network architectures, fiber distribution systems, dark fiber networks, and optical transport infrastructure
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, splice matrices, and fiber network designs
- Knowledge of industry standards including TIA, BICSI, NEC, ANSI, and customer-specific data center requirements
- Strong leadership, organizational, scheduling, and customer service skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting hyperscale, cloud, enterprise, or colocation data center projects
- PMP, BICSI, RCDD, CFOT, FOA, or related industry certifications
- B.A. or equivalent experience
- Business Administration/Engineering
