Job Summary
Lead the operational delivery of large-scale social housing retrofit and recladding projects from pre-construction through completion. Provide leadership to Contracts Managers and project delivery teams, ensuring safe, on-time, and budget-compliant delivery of external wall insulation, roofing, and fire safety works. Manage the overall project programme, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies while overseeing supply chain performance and subcontractor standards. Drive compliance with the Building Safety Act, Gateway requirements, CDM Regulations, and all statutory regulations. Monitor project performance through regular reporting on programme, quality, commercial metrics, and risk, working closely with Commercial Managers to manage budgets, forecasts, and change control. Ensure accurate data management and robust quality assurance processes to resolve defects effectively.
Required Qualifications
- Significant experience delivering large-scale social housing refurbishment or retrofit projects
- Previous experience managing projects valued in excess of £10 million
- Strong background in external envelope, recladding or façade replacement programmes
- Experience delivering works within occupied residential environments
- Proven leadership experience managing Contracts Managers and multidisciplinary project teams
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and project management principles
- Excellent stakeholder management and client relationship skills
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and project performance
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within demanding project environments
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desired Qualifications
- Experience delivering projects under the Building Safety Act
- Experience of Gateway 2 and Gateway 3 processes
- Knowledge of PAS 2030/2035 retrofit standards
- Experience working with Local Authorities or Registered Social Landlords
- Understanding of social value commitments and resident engagement
- Experience of MMC and modern construction techniques
