Job Summary
Coordinate all phases of the design process for full life cycle projects, generating creative solutions within functional parameters and translating concepts into images. Execute construction document detailing, manage contract administration, and prepare project schedules while selecting materials, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment. Lead project studio teams through mentorship, resolve issues between design and technical objectives, and integrate architectural and consultant documents. Present technical solutions to stakeholders, manage client relations, and apply knowledge of construction methods, codes, and accessibility standards. This full-time on-site role in Houston requires a CIDA-accredited degree, 8+ years of commercial design experience, Revit proficiency, and professional registration.
Required Qualifications
- Degree from a CIDA accredited Interior Design program or equivalent
- 8+ years of experience in commercial design
- Revit proficiency and technical excellence
- Thorough understanding of how a drawing set goes together
- Acumen for how things are built and constructability, and the ability to apply that knowledge to support the project design and budget
- General understanding of building and accessibility codes
- Experience coordinating with a variety of consultants and contractors
- Professional registration
- Effective organizational and communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Flexible attitude
- Ability to collaborate in a diverse project team environment
- Demonstrated experience coordinating and leading projects teams
- Ability to translate design concepts and information into images
- Confident presentation ability
- This role is an in-office position
- This position is designated as full-time on-site and requires the employee to be physically present at the assigned office location Monday through Friday during standard business hours
- Regular, reliable on-site attendance is an essential function of this role
