Job Summary
Project & Innovation Analyst at SilicoLife supports strategic R&D management and technology evaluation. You will manage and coordinate co-funded national and European projects (e.g., COMPETE, Horizon Europe), ensure compliance and reporting, and oversee the IP portfolio with patent timelines. You’ll co-design and test SilicoLife’s AI-enabled software tools, act as the liaison with external patent attorneys, and help identify patentable discoveries and Freedom to Operate analyses. You’ll identify new funding opportunities and assist with grant proposals, reporting to the Director of Innovation, in a hybrid, Braga-based role that blends project management, IP coordination, and software feedback for integrated R&D workflows.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in relevant life sciences or management
- Experience with public funding frameworks
- IP/FTO experience
- Software/tool feedback and product mindset
- English proficiency and Portuguese language skills
- Organizational and collaborative skills
Desired Qualifications
- MSc or PhD in Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Bioengineering, or related field (BSc with sufficient experience considered)
- Project management experience with national/European public funding frameworks (e.g., COMPETE 2020/2030, PRR, Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe)
- IP analysis, patent search, or FTO analysis experience
- Software curiosity and product mindset for internal AI-enabled tools
- Strong English (written and spoken) and professional proficiency in Portuguese
- Excellent coordination, communication, and multitasking abilities
- Experience bridging scientists, software developers, and legal professionals
