Job Summary
Manage the Clean Ports Program sub-award for the Elizabeth Upgrade project; ensure compliance with EPA, Grants.gov, SAM.gov; identify and pursue federal, state, and local funding opportunities to maximize financial and environmental impact. Serve as primary liaison between APM Terminals, Port Authority (PANYNJ) as main recipient of the grant, PSE&G, EPA, NJ state agencies and internal teams (Procurement, Decarbonization, Legal, Tax, Treasury, Finance and Energy Transition). Lead end-to-end grant lifecycle from application drafting to budgeting and reporting; monitor funding cycles and align opportunities with program goals; identify incentive programs and optimize benefits; drive stakeholder engagement and compliance governance; collaborate with the Head of Grants and Incentives globally to align opportunities with global standards; explore additional grants for USA facilities; potentially expand grant management scope as workload allows; maintain structured, ethical, and adaptable approach to navigate regulatory changes and cross-cultural collaboration. Limited travel may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in grant writing and administration, with at least 4 years for larger (>100 M USD) Grants
- Strong understanding of US Federal and New Jersey local regulatory landscapes, political dynamics, and environmental legislation
- Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting complex legal and regulatory documents
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent English written and verbal communication
- Strong analytical skills
- Solid financial understanding including cash flow, tax and treasury implications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree (e.g., MPA, MBA, or a Master’s in International Development or Finance) is preferred
