Job Summary
Originate, maintain, and strengthen relationships with clients, lenders, tax equity investors, and due diligence advisors to support offshore wind, energy transition, and conventional energy sectors. Execute key roles in structuring and end-to-end transaction management, including full ownership of deliverables, financial modelling supervision, and deal material preparation. Coordinate with internal and external teams to identify opportunities, conduct due diligence, and facilitate financing negotiations. Provide general training and mentoring to junior members while fostering cross-selling of CIB products. Travel regularly for internal and external meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree
- 6-8 years' experience in debt advisory (particularly project finance and acquisition finance) or combined lending + advisory role and/or M&A advisory, with a solid deals list (including financing structures with tax equity/tax credit)
- Experienced associates or junior VPs at investment banks, advisory firms, commercial banks (including those with lending + advisory experience) and from the sponsor/developer side (funds/utilities)
- Strong financial modelling expertise (project finance, valuation, capital stack including tax credits) and analytical skills
- Fluency in English (oral and written)
- FINRA SIE license
- Series 79 license
- Series 63 license
- Interpersonal skills with ability to work directly with clients and also being able to supervise and mentor junior internal resources
- Team player but also comfortable working independently with limited supervision when needed
- Multi-tasker and able to work under time pressure
- Ability to work with cross-functional and cross-geographic teams
- Traveling will be required as part of the role for internal and external meetings
- Employment eligibility to work with BBVA in the U.S.
