Job Summary
Execute executive oversight on project-level construction to ensure client satisfaction and repeat business. Organize and lead a team of 3-5 Project Managers, establishing revenue and margin goals aligned with Warfel's strategic plan. Communicate regularly with clients, attend Owner/Architect meetings as needed, and proactively review project communication, schedules, and team dynamics to eliminate relationship issues. Assist Business Development teams in securing new client relationships and opportunities. Review job status against CPM schedules, quality control, and jobsite appearance, identifying inconsistencies to implement recovery plans. Actively discuss major project issues with Operations Staff and ensure procurement of critical path trades. Manage project turnover, ensuring punch lists are completed timely before scheduled client handoff. Requires 12+ years of management experience and a four-year college degree in construction management or engineering.
Required Qualifications
- Located in an area allowing easy and readily available travel to both the office in Paoli, PA and jobsites in New Castle, Kent, and Sussex counties
- Must have a minimum of a four-year college degree majoring in construction management, engineering, architecture or similar program or similar related career experience
- 12+ years management experience or similar career experience
- Proven record of successfully managing projects consistent with those built by Warfel Construction Company
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- May need to occasionally move around the inside of the office to access file cabinets, manage copiers and other business materials, etc
- May also need to move throughout a construction jobsite with potentially uneven terrain
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, telephone, copy machine, or printer
- Frequently communicates with internal and external clients to exchange correct and accurate information
- Infrequent need to lift or move 5 to 25 lbs within an office environment
- Potential to lift up to 60 lbs (large set of drawings) on occasional basis
- Visits to jobsites may result in exposure to weather elements
