Job Summary
Manage construction projects from preconstruction through completion, overseeing scheduling, estimating, bidding, subcontracting, and contract administration to meet time and cost objectives. Lead project teams by developing and mentoring staff, conducting performance reviews, and ensuring proper documentation and monthly status updates. Drive business development by identifying new projects, procuring work, and negotiating schedules with clients to minimize risks. Develop and oversee cost estimates, budgets, and scopes while coordinating with regulatory entities and the owner. Execute proposal management processes, guide design teams on materials, and proactively resolve complex business problems. Maintain team morale and accountability while ensuring safety compliance and sustainable building practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field, or equivalent construction experience
- General Contracting experience
- Minimum of twelve (12) years previous construction experience
- Knowledge of principles and practices of engineering and construction project management, including safety standards
- Decision making, research and analytical problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to understand and learn technical systems and processes
- Strong ability to effectively manage and lead junior team members
- Strong ability to organize, assess, and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact effectively at all levels within the organization
- Effectively balances competing priorities to maintain focus on key deliverables and efficient use of staff and resources
- Project management and scheduling software experience
- Sustainable building experience (such as LEED certified projects)
- Certifications / accreditations (CPR / First Aid, OSHA 30-hour, WELL, ILFI, LEED)
