Job Summary
Review project plans and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing labor, materials, equipment, and overhead. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information while utilizing estimating software to create and maintain cost databases. Prepare and present breakdowns to stakeholders, monitor market trends, and conduct post-project evaluations to compare estimated costs with actual expenditures. Safeguard confidential information and ensure accuracy in all documentation. This role supports bid preparation and submission within a construction environment, requiring site visits and adherence to industry standards.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in estimating, preferably within demolition or construction
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with diverse teams and clients
- Regular and punctual attendance
- Ability to work in an office environment and conduct site visits as needed
- Capability to navigate construction sites, which may involve walking on uneven terrain
- Ability to lift and carry materials or equipment up to 25 lbs as necessary
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of demolition processes and equipment
- Strong proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or HeavyBid
