Job Summary
Senior Project Estimator to develop Class 5 through Class 1 estimates for large-scale power generation and energy infrastructure projects. Translate engineering scope into cost drivers across gas turbines, HRSGs, steam turbines, balance of plant, electrical systems, substations, and energy storage (BESS, inverters, controls). Lead cost estimation, risk assessment, contingency development, and benchmarking; prepare total installed cost (TIC) estimates including EPC, owner’s costs, escalation, and basis of estimate documentation. Provide support for regulatory filings, IRP, and rate cases; develop estimate ranges aligned to project stage and governance requirements; evaluate alternative configurations to support least-cost, best-fit solutions. Collaborate with engineering, project development, supply chain, and construction teams; develop Independent Cost Estimates (ICEs) and support contractor bid evaluations. Mentor junior estimators and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating tools and data governance. Required experience includes strong analytical skills, ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and a safety-focused mindset. Salary range provided: $82,200.00 - $123,200.00, with posting window in June 2026.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in cost estimating
- Proven ability to develop estimates for large-scale capital projects ($100M+)
- Strong understanding of Engineering design development, Construction practices and execution strategies, Procurement and contracting approaches
- Proficiency with estimating tools such as: Aspen Capital Cost Estimator InEight Estimate Cleopatra, Sage, or similar
- Experience with regulatory filings and cost benchmarking (IRP, rate cases)
- Experience in power generation, transmission, or energy infrastructure projects
- Professional certifications such as AACE CCP, PMP, or equivalent (preferred)
