Job Summary
Gather, calculate, and compile data from quantity surveys, plans, and specifications to prepare overall estimates under general supervision. Review project specifications, drawings, and attend pre-con meetings to understand scope and required contents. Conduct advanced quantity surveys and quantification of select subcontractor trades while preparing scopes of work for supplier and subcontractor review. Analyze historical data from purchase orders and subcontracts to establish unit and man-hour figures, analyze value engineering, and maintain a Budget Status log. Foster positive relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, and suppliers by attending directed meetings to gather and disseminate project information.
Required Qualifications
- A four-year college degree in engineering, construction management, architecture or similar
- Minimum of two years of vertical commercial building estimating experience
- Experience in many facets of large construction, hospitality, healthcare, and manufacturing
- Previous field experience
- Excellent computer skills
- Knowledge of On-Screen Take Off
- Knowledge of iSqft
- Knowledge of Bluebeam
- Proficiency in MS office suite
- Understanding of CSI
- Understanding of Uniformat
- Understanding of Masterformat
- Knowledge of Timberline Estimating
- Knowledge of Primavera Scheduling
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to build relationship with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors that lead to positive outcomes
- Excellent team player
