Job Summary
Manage all project base estimates, buyout packages, and RFQ/RFPs for design-build turnkey MEP projects. Produce proposals and source installation partners while maintaining the ripKurrents cost database with current market rates. Lead value engineering reviews to recommend cost savings and installation methods to Engineering and Sales teams. Assist with site visits and surveys as needed. Requires 10+ years of MEP estimating experience, subcontract negotiation skills, and AIA/CSI format knowledge. Must travel 20-30% of the time and hold a valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of project estimating experience in MEP projects with a thorough knowledge of general construction method and means
- 10+ years subcontract creation and negotiations in the construction industry
- AIA Forms/Contract experience
- Through CSI format and estimating process
- A High School Diploma or GED
- Prior supervisory experience with demonstrated leadership abilities
- Must have the ability to quickly learn software and applicable processes
- Strong communication (verbal & written), organizational and team building skills
- Demonstrates positive customer service attitude and behavior
- Ability to be a team player committed to the success of the business
- Demonstrated abilities problem solving, decision making, and conflict resolution
- Demonstrated ability to be accountable for the success of the installation business
- Demonstrated experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS project, Project Mates, ZoHo Projects (Or Similar PMO application)
- Ability to travel 20-30%
- Driver's license in the state of residency
- Must be able to walk/move about a Construction Job sites: 10-20% of the time
- Must be able to stand/walk/move about specific work area: 50% of the time
- Must be able to bend/reach/twist/stoop: 50% of the time
- Must be able to lift up to 10lbs on a frequent basis: 10% of the time
- Must be able to lift over 15lbs on an infrequent basis: 30% of the time
- Must be able to work and operate a computer: 75% of the time
- Must be able to climb ladders and work from elevated platforms
- Vision is required to analyze and process work; and to work on computers and other office equipment
- Hearing is essential for safety reasons; and to communicate with employees, supervisors, managers, vendors, suppliers and customers via conversation, group meetings, and/or phone conferences
Desired Qualifications
- BS in related field preferred but experience can substitute for education
