Job Summary
Project Environmental Specialist – Monitoring based in the Indianapolis area; conducts stormwater and regulated-waters compliance monitoring field assessments including erosion/ sediment control inspection, stormwater pollution prevention plan modifications, and documentation of environmental resources for energy-related projects. 80% field work and 20% office work with flexible hours and overtime. Responsibilities include construction inspections, erosion control monitoring, field data collection, wetland delineations, regulatory applications, data compilation, weekly reports, and permitting documents. Travel within OH, IN, and KY; remote home-office base with field work in Indiana region. Proficiency in regulatory knowledge, technical writing, GPS tools, and ability to write reports and manuals. Requires a Driver's License and the ability to perform physically demanding fieldwork; 401(k) and comprehensive benefits provided.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Natural Resource Ecology, Engineering, Biology, or Environmental Science; advanced degree a plus
- 1-2 years of experience commensurate with environmental consulting practices with a background in environmental science, ecology, or construction inspection services
