Job Summary
Project Engineering Technician II working under a registered professional engineer to perform inspection and sampling services for construction projects. Collect concrete, soil, and other site materials for testing; monitor general contractor activities; prepare daily test-result reports and site observations; assist with quality assurance, reporting, and documentation. Requires on-site work in Weaverville, NC, with certification prerequisites in concrete and soils testing, strong communication, ability to work outdoors in variable conditions, and proficiency with MS Office.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2-5 years of experience in construction materials testing or >5 years in lieu of certifications
- ACI-1 Concrete certification
- ICC Soils (or SCDOT/NCDOT Earthwork) certification
- ICC Reinforced Concrete or ICC Masonry + 1 additional certification (e.g., fireproofing)
- Valid Driver's License with clean driving record
- Ability to work outdoors in all seasons
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
