Job Summary

Lead planning, design, and implementation of civil works projects in Quetta, including feasibility studies, site assessments, and detailed cost estimations. Oversee contractor management, ensure quality compliance, and coordinate procurement for reconstruction efforts supporting the Flood Reconstruction and Coordination Programme. Manage a team of field engineers, conduct construction inspections, and certify invoices against completed work. Prepare technical inputs for donor engagement and maintain project documentation on UNDP SharePoint.

  • Ability to advise on follow-up with contractors on works at the site

  • Ability to guide FRP engineers in overseeing the work of contractors
  • Ability to guide FRP engineers in developing the variation orders
  • Ability to verify and quality assure the accuracy of the variation orders
  • Ability to support processing the contract amendments
  • Ability to draft the respective Note to Files
  • Ability to conduct construction inspection
  • Ability to check and certifying the progress/completion of works
  • Ability to intervene as required and liaise with the contractor to fix issues
  • Ability to review contractor invoices for accuracy and completeness
  • Ability to ensure invoices reflect the actual quantity and quality of work completed
  • Ability to certify invoices only after verification that all contractual requirements have been met
  • Ability to conduct and/or coordinate final inspections
  • Ability to prepare project completion reports
  • Ability to provide post-construction support
  • Ability to ensure the highest standards of knowledge management
  • Ability to ensure complete archiving of civil works projects related files and documentation
  • Ability to provide inputs for the periodic and final reports
  • Ability to collect, arrange and upload to FRP workspace
  • Ability to provide training and knowledge transfer to national personnel and contractor's personnel
  • Ability to provide advice on good construction practices
  • Ability to provide advice on environmental management practices
  • Ability to provide advice on appropriate health and safety standards
  • Ability to contribute to the dissemination and sharing of best practices
  • Ability to contribute to the dissemination and sharing of lessons learned
  • Ability to set and align challenging, achievable objectives for multiple projects
