Job Summary

Project Engineer for water and wastewater projects leading technical engineering tasks and coordinating with clients, trade partners, engineers, and staff. Responsible for planning, scheduling, predicting, and managing all technical tasks to ensure accuracy, resources, and quality throughout the project lifecycle. Key duties include assisting Project Managers with scoping and take-offs, preparing submittals, maintaining and updating project schedules and subcontractor detail schedules, leading development of project plans, expediting material deliveries, reviewing change proposals, facilitating drawings coordination, drafting change orders, soliciting prices from subcontractors and suppliers, leading project close-out with manuals and warranties, and developing training for the team and trade partners. Requires reading drawings and specifications, proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, and strong communication skills. Physical and field aspects include active construction site work, dealing with uneven terrain, lifting up to 50 pounds, and adapting to variable environments. The role emphasizes safety, adherence to Clark Construction policies, and the potential for extended hours during critical project phases. A pre-employment drug screening is required. Located in Louisa, VA with opportunities to work on multiple active projects across the United States. Initiatives include documenting management, quality control, and efficient turnover to owners.

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, a related discipline or relevant work experience
  • 2+ years experience in an engineer, project engineer, or a similar role in the construction industry
  • Demonstrated knowledge of scheduling, cost engineering, subcontract coordination, and general project administration
  • Demonstrated ability reading drawings and specifications
  • Computer proficient including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace products
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest and passion for building and the industry

  • Preferred Qualifications OSHA 10 certification Procore experience Primavera P6 experience
