Job Summary
Project Engineer responsibilities include assisting the project team with administration and management of construction activities, setting up and maintaining project tools, and coordinating with field staff and subcontractors. Responsibilities include configuring CMiC (Submittal Log Registry, RFI numbering), maintaining Submittal Logs, organizing PlanGrid for contract documents, managing progress photo documentation, posting RFIs and maintaining as-builts, managing Material Procurement Logs, coordinating with Field Foremen and Subcontractor PMs to ensure timely material deliveries, overseeing contract close-out (O&M manuals, As-Builts), creating closeout binders, attending project meetings and distributing minutes, participating in risk management trainings and networking events, assisting in developing and tracking project schedules, controlling submittal processes, and supporting safety training and incident reporting. Required skills include strong written and verbal communication, initiative, reliability, teamwork, and the ability to progress toward Senior Project Engineer responsibilities. Qualifications emphasize a four-year degree related to construction/engineering, basic software proficiency (CMiC, PlanGrid, Bluebeam, BIM 360 Glue, etc.), OSHA 30 and safety certifications, and the ability to manage procurement, RFIs, and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Four-year degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Basic understanding of scheduling and CMiC applications
- Understanding of basic construction administration processes, including construction documents, schedules, RFIs, submittals and material procurement
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Understanding of basic daily software tools, such as Bluebeam, Plan Grid, Safety Mojo, BIM 360 Glue, etc.
- Basic time management and organization skills
- Completion of OSHA 30-Hour Safety Course
- First Aid and CPR certified
