Job Summary
Complete intermediate design and analysis tasks using industry-standard software under a Professional Engineer's direction. Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques while escalating unusual problems for review. Utilize Company QA/QC processes to review tasks, documents, design drawings, permit drawings, and GIS geodatabase deliverables. Collaborate with supervisors, project managers, and internal personnel to complete assignments, attend client meetings, and respond to design questions from CAD Technicians. Prepare utility relocation schedules, tracks project deliverables, and assist in developing cost estimates and project schedules. This full-time role in Austin, Texas, requires 3+ years of experience and proficiency in CADD, AutoCAD, and GIS. Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional experience
- EIT or PE
- Knowledge of standard engineering and scientific techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out tasks
- Familiarity with CobbFendley's QA/QC Management System
- Skills including use of industry-standard computer software for the position (i.e., software such as CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, and Hydrologic/Hydraulic models)
- Ability to use spreadsheets, word processing, and standard office software
- Ability to drive large pick-up trucks with attached trailers
- Ability to operate watercraft
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (heat and freezing temperatures)
- Ability to navigate uneven surfaces and confined spaces
- Ability to handle potential exposure to high noise levels and various allergens (poison ivy, sumac, dust, pollen, cedar)
- Ability to handle potential exposure to wildlife hazards (animals, insects, plants)
- Ability to use personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to use hand and power tools
- Ability to pass a drug screening
- Ability to pass a physical exam
- Ability to pass background verifications (including but not limited to 10-year history of the county, state, federal, and a 5-year history of motor vehicle records)
- Ability to pass E-Verify
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM CST
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule once the training period is complete
- Ability to work in Austin, Texas
