Job Summary
Project Engineer - Systems focusing on mechanical and electrical assembly and testing of complete RF systems. The RF Power Project Development team develops next-generation products within the RF Power division. Responsibilities include prototyping, NPI, design for manufacture, production testing, creating test specifications and reports, troubleshooting failures, and providing timely feedback to project teams. The role involves planning deliverables, mentoring fabrication and test staff, and maintaining a proactive safety culture. Travel to the UK and overseas (typical 5-10% per year) is required. The candidate should have experience in electrical/electronic assembly, fault finding and test, be comfortable scanning assembly drawings/schematics, interpret results with standard test equipment, and be proficient with AutoCad Electrical. Desirable knowledge includes RF principles, PMS measurements, high voltage testing, and familiarity with BS EN61010 and the Low Voltage directive. Education required includes HNC/HND/degree in Electrical/Electronic engineering or equivalent experience.
Required Qualifications
- HNC / HND / Degree in Electrical / Electronic engineering or equivalent
- Strong understanding of electrical / electronic fault-finding techniques
- Proven ability to work from assembly drawings / schematics, work instructions and procedures
- Familiarity using standard test equipment and interpreting results
- AutoCad (ideally AutoCad Electrical) as a design / capture tool
- BS EN61010 electrical safety standard and Low Voltage directive 2014/34/EU
- Knowledge of high voltage testing in particular electrical safety
- Experience of complete product life cycle design, encompassing original development from concept through to final design and customer handover
- Small form factor soldering and / or J standard qualification (or willingness to learn)
