Job Summary
Take ownership of engineering designs from concept through to production, developing innovative, robust, and cost-effective solutions. Produce high-quality 3D CAD models, detailed engineering drawings, Bills of Materials, and technical documentation including SES, SQR, and CER reports. Specify materials and components while supporting product testing and collaborating with suppliers, partners, and regulatory bodies. Provide engineering expertise to the Technical Support Team for customer and dealer enquiries, applying best practices such as D-FMEA, FEA, and risk analysis. Manage multiple projects to meet deadlines within a full-time, permanent role at Swift, a UK leader in manufacturing innovative products.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in Engineering
- At least five years' experience in a design engineering role
- Experience using 3D CAD software
- Knowledge of engineering tools such as FMEA, FEA and risk analysis
- Experience producing detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation
- A strong understanding of engineering materials and their applications
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- The ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills with experience of working across cross-functional teams and alongside suppliers
Desired Qualifications
- Pro/ENGINEER (Creo)
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and tooling
- Awareness of new engineering technologies, materials and weight-saving techniques
