Project Engineer - Surface Pumping Units

Job Summary
Conduct technical support for Surface Pumping Unit product development, leading assigned engineering projects from initial concept studies through detailed design, Finite Element Analysis, and prototype testing. Design components and sub-assemblies to comply with industry standards like API, OSHA, and ISO while managing electrical control systems. Perform root cause analysis on field failures, interpret lab test data, and optimize existing products through design reviews and manufacturing modifications. Manage PDM system administration and interface with manufacturing and field teams to develop cost-effective, robust designs.
Required Qualifications
- At least 8 years of Engineering design and product development experience
- Experience working with various API and other international standards
- Minimum 6 years of experience in PTC Creo modeling and drawings
- Experience in bearing selection, gear design and lubrication design
- Detailed knowledge of fabrication processes, welding and machining processes
- Detailed knowledge of structural design and analysis
- At least 5 years of experience with Artificial Lift systems, especially Sucker Rod lift systems
- At least 6 years of experience with Oilfield equipment design
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a fabrication environment
- Experience working in field operations providing failure analysis, technical support or field trials
- Proficiency in welded component design
- Proficiency in structural design and analysis
- Proficiency in using PTC Windchill/PDM system
- Familiarity with API / EN machinery directives/ Canadian electric code
- Multi-lingual
