Job Summary
Conduct structural design and engineering for utility substation and renewable energy projects, including solar tracker systems and equipment pads. Develop Basis of Design documents, perform load calculations, and create structural models using FEA tools like RISA and RAM. Prepare detailed drawings and specifications in AutoCAD or Revit while coordinating with geotechnical engineers, vendors, and client-facing teams to resolve technical comments and respond to RFIs. Contribute to internal design standards, resource planning, and project closeout reviews. Requires 5-8 years of experience, EIT certification, and 10-15% travel. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- EIT certification
- 5-8 years of experience in structural design
- exposure to foundation engineering, energy, or infrastructure projects
- Working knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI standards
- Strong attention to detail
- communication skills
- Willingness to travel (10–15%) for occasional site visits or field support
