Job Summary
Project Engineer - Steel responsible for coordinating structural steel erection on a high-value project portfolio (over 1B). Will interface with fabricators, subcontractors, and owners to resolve design, procurement, and constructability issues; coordinate contract, design, and shop drawings to create an erectable final structure; develop thorough means & methods with design/construction engineers; manage cost reporting from to-date to final costs; and leverage MS Office tools. Requires a B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (or equivalent) and at least 8 years of structural steel experience across heavy civil/bridge projects. Strong written/verbal communication and exposure to large GC environments are essential.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent from accredited institution
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in structural steel erection, heavy civil construction, bridge, vertical construction, or other steel structures
- Experience interfacing with fabricators, subcontractors, and owners to resolve design, procurement, and constructability issues
- Coordination of contract drawings, design drawings, and shop drawings
- Experience interfacing with design engineers and construction engineers to develop means and methods
- Realize to-date costs and final costs thru completion
- Proficiency with MS Office
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Recent Large GC experience
- 8 Years Structural Steel
- Projects over 100M
