Job Summary
Project Engineer will support Project Managers, Office Staff and Field Trades on unique projects with a mix of office and field work. Responsibilities include ordering and securing materials and deliveries, tracking quantities, reviewing submittals and RFIs, and assisting Project Managers and Superintendents in all areas where support is needed. Key duties include scheduling of direct and indirect project work; interfacing with client and owner representatives; reviewing project scope with field foreman; ensuring accurate entry of project data into corporate systems; reviewing invoice amounts with clients and coordinating invoicing; attending project meetings and inter-office scheduling/coordination meetings; on-site inspections for client satisfaction; maintaining a daily activity log; coordinating between field and shop, subcontractors and suppliers; reviewing cost reports and variances; negotiating and administering scope changes; strong communication skills; ability to work effectively with craft personnel and client personnel; and ability to estimate work.
Required Qualifications
- BS Degree in Engineering or Associate Degree in Construction related field
- 0-5 years’ experience in the industry
- Proficiency in computer based management systems
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs to view potential work
- Employee is required to perform typical office activities
- Employee is required to perform difficult physical maneuvers including lifting, stretching, climbing, crawling, etc.
