Job Summary
Senior-level transportation civil engineer leads design and delivery of highway, transit, and active transportation projects. Responsibilities include executing technical tasks and coordinating a broad range of assignments on transportation projects (interchange design, roadway widenings, bike facilities, drainage and water quality design, traffic control and signing), coordinating with sub-consultants and internal project teams, and representing the firm in client meetings and presentations. Provides direction and mentorship for junior engineers. Preferred knowledge includes Civil 3D, MicroStation, and OpenRoads; familiarity with Caltrans and AASHTO standards. The role emphasizes collaboration across a diverse project portfolio for municipal and regional clients and enables hybrid/flexible work schedules.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related discipline
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of California
- 3+ years of progressively responsible professional experience in civil engineering (8+ years for Sr. PE)
- Working knowledge in roadway design software and AutoCAD
- Familiarity with Caltrans, local agency and AASHTO design standards and procedures, regulatory compliance and agency coordination
