Job Summary
Project Engineer / Senior Project Engineer leading QA review and project management for steel and concrete fabrication in MDOT-aligned Michigan projects. Responsibilities include managing fabrication QA review projects for Local Agency clients in Michigan, preparing scopes and quotes based on MDOT standards, serving as primary contact for counties/cities/fabricators, coordinating shop reviews, overseeing schedules and documentation packages, reviewing reports for quality and compliance, resolving issues with clients and team, supporting business development and proposal work, and mentoring project teams. Requires a four-year civil engineering degree with a Michigan PE license; additional PE licenses in other states and PMP are a plus. Experience with fabrication review, special inspections, quality assurance, and/or related project management preferred; ability to scope, price, and manage technical review work; strong organizational and communication skills; familiarity with DOT specifications and construction standards; capable of independent and collaborative work.
Required Qualifications
- Four-year civil engineering degree with a Professional Engineering (PE) License in Michigan
- Experience with fabrication review, QA, DOT specifications, and MDOT requirements preferred
- Ability to scope, price, and manage technical review work
- Strong communication skills and client/fabricator interaction
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Safety-conscious and ethical conduct
