Job Summary
Lead project management and QA reviews for steel and concrete fabrication in MDOT projects in Michigan. Manage scopes and quotes for fabrication review work, coordinate shop reviews, and serve as the primary contact for counties, cities, fabricators, and internal staff. Oversee schedules, reporting, and final documentation packages; review reports for quality and compliance; identify and resolve issues with clients and team. Provide technical consulting on structural steel and prestressed concrete fabrication QA services, mentor and develop project teams, and assist with business development, proposal generation, and invoice review. Requires a four-year civil engineering degree and PE license in Michigan; preferred additional state licensure (out-of-state) or PMP; experience with MDOT/ITPs, fabrication QA, and DOT specs; strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Required Qualifications
- A four-year civil engineering degree
- Professional Engineering (PE) License in the state of Michigan
- Experience with fabrication review, special inspections, quality assurance, and/or project management (preferred)
- Ability to scope, price, and manage technical review work
- Excellent verbal and written communications
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Technical expertise with DOT specifications and construction standards
Desired Qualifications
- PE License in Michigan
- Professional Engineering license in any state with MI license preferred
- DOT standards experience
- QA testing/inspection experience
- Project management experience
- MS Office proficiency
- Strong communication skills
- Mentoring/team leadership
- Fabrication QA for steel/concrete

- Proposal through final documentation experience
