Job Summary
Project Engineer to support mining and heavy industrial projects across engineering, procurement, construction management, and commissioning. Key responsibilities include day-to-day management of project teams, subcontractors, and vendors; reading and interpreting specifications and drawings; performing site calculations (lift studies, modifications); applying US/Canadian standards; providing technical management and QA for contractor works; reviewing contractor quality documentation; planning and coordinating detailed project phases; communicating design or scope changes affecting deadlines, workload, or budget; monitoring schedules and budget; managing contractor costs and variations; maintaining client relationships for repeat business; ensuring safety and adherence to project schedules. Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Mechanical Engineering and 3-7 years of relevant experience in mineral processing, mining, or heavy industrial sectors. Proficient with scheduling tools (Primavera P6 preferred or MS Project) and MS Office; capable of onsite exposure; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; collaborative, proactive, and detail-oriented with a commitment to safety. Position offers full-time employment with potential hybrid work, 40 hours per week, and US work authorization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
- 3 to 7 years of experience in mining/mineral processing or heavy industrial sectors
- Experience with project coordination, contractor management, and site execution
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; Primavera P6 preferred or MS Project
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
- Strong communication skills; safety-focused; detail-oriented
