Job Summary
Project Engineer responsible for supporting the Operations Director with O&M contractor coordination and FDOT collaboration to ensure safe, compliant project delivery. Manages contractor inspections, leads asset management system use and data integration, supports lifecycle planning, budgeting, and renewal scheduling, and facilitates site visits. Administers O&M contracts, tracks performance and changes, reviews contractor reports, maintains the Project Risk Register, and contributes to monthly and board-level reporting. Ensures compliance with HSE and quality standards, and serves as on-call representative for major incidents. Requires 3–5 years of highway design/construction/maintenance experience, contract administration expertise, strong technical skills for site inspections, and proficiency in MS Office and asset management systems. Degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience) with preferred DOT/FDOT experience and familiarity with assets tools (e.g., MMIS, ArcGIS). Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in highway design, construction, or maintenance (including structures, drainage, pavement, ITS, and bridges)
- Experience in contract administration, including change orders and cost estimation
- Strong technical knowledge with the ability to conduct site inspections and collaborate with field teams
- Proficiency in MS Office and asset/data management systems
- Degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Relevant professional certifications or memberships preferred
