Job Summary
Bus Project Engineer is responsible for managing transit bus engineering and technical aspects, coordinating with various teams, managing schedules, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and providing technical guidance to team members. Essential duties include designing vehicle layout schemes, configuring vehicles, performing performance calculations, preparing assembly and maintenance analyses, reading and creating wiring diagrams and schematics in AutoCAD, and creating BOMs to support new designs. The role requires travel to customer sites as needed, collaboration with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Customer Service, and the ability to analyze design reliability and manufacturability while maintaining visibility into schedule, scope, budget, and quality from concept to end of life. Proficiency with AutoCAD and Siemens NX, attention to design changes, and the capability to travel up to 10% are expected. A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline is required.
