Job Summary
Project Engineer to oversee facilities and construction projects from inception to completion, prioritizing safety, managing schedules and budgets, coordinating with internal teams and external contractors, and ensuring compliance with standards and regulations. Responsibilities include planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning; developing schedules and budgets; site visits; collaboration with facilities, operations, and maintenance teams; coordinating with contractors, vendors, and consultants; managing documentation (contracts, RFIs, change orders, punch lists); providing technical guidance; risk identification and mitigation; and fostering relationships with stakeholders and sponsors.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in facilities and construction project management
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards
- Proficiency in project management software, including scheduling and budgeting tools
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
- Experience with LEAN and continuous improvement systems (TPM, 5S, Six Sigma)
- Proficiency in drawing, blueprints, CAD, Microsoft Office, Procore, or PlanGrid
- Knowledge of engineering standards (ASME, ANSI, NFPA, ISO, IEC, OSHA)
- Certifications in project management (PMP, LEED AP, CCM, etc.) preferred
- Experience with sustainable design and energy-efficient systems
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
