Job Summary
Organize and manage public work capital improvement projects including water, wastewater, street, drainage, and rail. Oversee technical and engineering aspects of assigned projects, act as contract administrator, and meet to plan and budget projects ensuring compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, and ordinances. Provide team leadership, technical support related to construction inspection, supervise engineering inspectors and field crew, and resolve issues that may arise in the field or during plan review. Identify and evaluate long-term infrastructure needs in commercial, private, and public development within City limits and ETJ area. Project Engineer, under the general supervision of the Division Director, reviews land development and improvements to public infrastructure, including water, sewer, streets, and drainage facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering or related field
- Four (4) years of civil engineering experience
- Valid driver's license
- Current Texas Professional Engineer License or the ability to obtain within six (6) months from date of hire
