Job Summary

Lead closure planning, field operations, and contractor oversight for an advanced mine closure project while serving as the on-site safety leader. Coordinate daily field activities, prepare project schedules, and perform equipment evaluations to support realistic execution of reclamation and water management initiatives. Provide technical input for closure design concepts across open pits, waste rock facilities, and process plants, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local permitting requirements. Manage stakeholder engagements, review monitoring data for decision-making, and prepare Requests for Proposals. Requires a Bachelor's in engineering or environmental science with 5–15+ years of experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work in a dynamic field environment. This role combines engineering responsibilities with project coordination within a collaborative team focused on environmental systems and regulatory commitments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geological Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Environmental Science, Soil Science, Geology, or a closely related discipline
  • Approximately 5–15+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Strong project coordination and technical communication skills
  • Experience working in and leading multidisciplinary teams
  • The ability to perform well in a team setting and to be self-directed based on overall team goals
  • Valid driver's license and ability to perform field work in a mining environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with broad objectives rather than waiting for detailed direction
  • Proven record of anticipating issues, prioritizing competing demands, and taking appropriate action
  • Comfort working in a dynamic field environment where priorities change due to weather, operational needs, and regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated humility, accountability, and willingness to assist teammates beyond formal job responsibilities
  • Strong systems-thinking skills with the ability to understand interactions among water management, geochemistry, reclamation, permitting, contractors, regulators, and stakeholders

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with mine closure, reclamation, or environmental management projects
  • Knowledge of Nevada mining regulations, permitting processes, and interfacing with Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP) staff
  • Experience coordinating contractors and technical consultants
  • Familiarity with water management systems and environmental monitoring programs
  • Experience in preparing technical reports, permit applications, and regulatory presentations
  • Geochemistry experience
  • Mine reclamation experience
  • Soil science expertise
  • Water treatment system knowledge
  • Remote systems control
  • Solar Power Systems
  • Experience working directly with Federal and State regulatory agencies
