Job Summary
Manage release packages and downstream task planning to drive cost and manufacturing cycle times down. Lead design, analysis, and testing of complex aerospace systems to ensure compliance with company standards and customer requirements. Make highly dynamic technical decisions on the shop floor and coordinate with external vendors to oversee rapid prototype construction and fabrication. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive project plans, track milestones, and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and structural challenges. Prepare critical engineering deliverables and ensure all work adheres to PiAC Quality Management System and contractual requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced skills and knowledge in aircraft construction and fabrication methods
- Proven ability to manage technical planning in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Proven hands-on experience in the design, testing, and integration of complex aerospace systems
- Ability to read, interpret, and create technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills, with a proven ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Experience working in dynamic, high-stakes environments with short deadlines
- Critical thinking ability and strong decision-making skills
- College degree, preferably a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
- A minimum of 10 years of hands-on design and/or test experience
- Must meet U.S. Government Export Control requirements, including U.S. Person status as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency with 3D modeling software (e.g., SolidWorks, Catia) and project management tools (e.g., MS Project)
