Job Summary

Project Engineer for PCL Buildings Inc. supporting a national data center business unit. Responsibilities include maintaining select trade partner contracts and subcontract administration (defining work scope, answering inquiries, supervising progress), participating in change management and change order processes (pricing, processing, and assessing cost/schedule impact), document control (RFIs, shop drawings, submittals, as-built drawings), coordinating with project team leads on design coordination and submittal schedules, reviewing trade partner submittals for scope/design compliance, coordinating with project manager and superintendent on overall performance (HSE, cost, schedule, quality), preparing and supervising progress claims and estimates, tracking materials and equipment, assisting with site inspections to resolve constructability and coordination issues, and participating in project closeout and warranty activities. Qualifications emphasize 1-3 years in construction operations, a related degree or equivalent experience, and strong communication, planning, and coordination skills.

Required Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of construction experience in an operational role preferred
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Verified understanding about construction equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications, project health, safety, and environment (HSE), quality, building materials, and required standards as per field
  • Ability to apply basic engineering/problem solving principles to construction challenges
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication
  • Demonstrates flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize own work and delegate simple tasks
  • Ability to build a comprehensive schedule
  • Ability to coordinate subcontracts and contract documents
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and internal operational systems; willingness to adopt new technology
