Project Engineer

Job Summary
Conduct labor control on assigned projects, including setup and maintenance. Prepare RFIs and submittals, perform quantitative takeoffs to verify estimates, order materials, and price change orders. Create and implement job schedules, coordinate with field supervisors and foremen, and manage punch lists and job closeout documentation. Support Quality Control measures outlined in the QA/QC program. Assist in other duties as assigned. This safety-sensitive role requires at least two years of project support or management experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings. A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Construction Science is preferred, along with OSHA certification. Local to the Detroit metro area.
Required Qualifications
- at least 2 years' experience supporting or managing construction projects
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (e.g., Excel, Word, etc.)
- a clear understanding of how to read and interpret specifications and drawings
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to learn new skills by engaging in the technical job functions and applying new skills as they're learned
- Strong customer service skills and relationship-building abilities
- Ability to prioritize and multitask while handling multiple projects concurrently
- Motivated self-starter with strong work ethic and a willingness to take initiative
- Works well under pressure and deadlines
- Possess critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
- Local to the Detroit metro area
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or related discipline
- Experience with interior scopes of construction
- Experience managing specialty scopes of construction
- OSHA certification
