Project Engineer

Job Summary
Perform labor control on assigned projects, including setup and maintenance. Prepare RFIs and submittals, conduct quantitative takeoffs to verify estimates, order materials, and price change orders. Create and implement job schedules, coordinate with field supervisors and foremen, and manage punch lists and job closeout documentation. Support Quality Control measures outlined in the QA/QC program. Assist in other duties as assigned. This safety-sensitive position requires at least two years of construction project experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related discipline preferred. OSHA certification required. Local to San Antonio, TX.
Required Qualifications
- at least 2 years' experience supporting or managing construction projects
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (e.g., Excel, Word, etc.)
- clear understanding of how to read and interpret specifications and drawings
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to learn new skills by engaging in the technical job functions and applying new skills as they're learned
- Strong customer service skills and relationship-building abilities
- Ability to prioritize and multitask while handling multiple projects concurrently
- Motivated self-starter with strong work ethic and a willingness to take initiative
- Works well under pressure and deadlines
- Possess critical-thinking and problem-solving skills

Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or related discipline
- Experience with different scopes of construction
- Experience managing specialty scopes of construction
- OSHA certification
