Job Summary
Ensure all Nicholson and OSHA safety regulations are followed and enforced on job sites. Perform field quality control tests, run small crews for technical tasks like water and load testing, and resolve geometry issues through field surveys. Prepare drawings, manage quality control records, order materials, and assist with change order documentation and claim analysis. Research and resolve drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, and errors while maintaining strict adherence to the Quality Control Manual and Approved Submittals. This role requires extensive travel throughout the US, including overnight trips, and involves lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds. A Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Construction Management with five years of experience is required, with geotechnical expertise preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related degree
- 5 years of construction equipment/ techniques (i.e. drawings, specifications, building materials, surveying, design, or geotechnical work)
- Basic knowledge of bidding and job costing procedures
- Knowledgeable in structural and geotechnical designs related to our techniques
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Converse effectively using both verbal and written communication
- Demonstrate ability to manage stress and emotions as related to the workplace
- Attention to detail
- Identify and resolve conflict
- Assess safety and risk
- Lift, carry, pull and push at least 40 pounds
- Travel per the company travel policy, including overnight and away from home
Desired Qualifications
- Geotechnical preferred
- Prior construction site work experience a plus
