Project Engineer - Municipal Water / Wastewater

Job Summary
Lead municipal water and wastewater projects from planning through construction by preparing and reviewing engineering plans, directing design computations, and coordinating with the design team for construction document production. Assist in developing project proposals, cost estimates, and feasibility studies while serving as an advisor to the Project Manager to identify and communicate potential risks. Perform quality control reviews at milestones, mentor less experienced staff, and maintain relationships with cities, utilities, and public agencies. Organize multiple projects to ensure timely completion on schedule and within budget. Requires a Professional Engineering (PE) license and four years of relevant experience.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a B.S. Degree in an appropriate field of study from an accredited college
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in engineering
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in the location of practice
- Ability to work independently and with others, with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing engineering plans, reports, and documentation
- Familiarity with local regulations, permitting processes, and design standards
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge and skill in determining project requirements, setting project scope of work, determining design budgets, determining preliminary construction budgets, and review of contracts
- Strong work ethic
- Experience with computer aided drafting and modeling using industry accepted software
- Experience with codes and regulations, interpreting plans, and design discipline specific project components
- Must be able to lift 10 pounds on a regular basis
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds on an occasional basis
- Manual dexterity and coordination required over 50% of the work period
- Ability to bend, reach, stand, and walk as required
