Job Summary

Lead and manage capital projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget. Develop detailed project plans including timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies. Coordinate with cross-functional teams across engineering, procurement, construction, and operations while conducting feasibility studies and technical evaluations. Prepare progress reports and final documentation for stakeholders, and manage contractors to ensure quality and compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations. Identify potential risks, implement corrective actions, and foster continuous improvement by sharing lessons learned. Work closely with plant operating teams on an initiative-taking basis to achieve longer-term improvement objectives within the chemical plant environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management or engineering within a chemical plant or similar industrial environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera)
  • Proven track record of successfully managing small to medium capital projects from inception to completion
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and other relevant engineering guidelines and best practices
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must collaborate across all functions and levels of the organization to deliver objectives
  • Must maintain and routinely engage with an excellent network of contacts in MCG's manufacturing and technical communities
  • Must work very closely with the plant operating teams and be extremely comfortable in a plant environment on an initiative-taking basis
  • Must maintain an elevated level of sensitivity to plant operations – not waiting for calls – while achieving longer term improvement objectives

Desired Qualifications

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a plus
