Project Engineer - LCA

Job Summary
Project Engineer assists Project Managers to ensure that work installed on the project meets plan and specification requirements. Responsibilities include reviewing plans, shop drawings, and submittals; analyzing value and constructability; communicating inconsistencies to the architect; recommending cost-saving methods; attending and documenting meetings; publishing weekly progress reports; updating project schedules; aiding in bidding and developing scope of work for trade contractors; coordinating with the superintendent on schedule milestones and shop drawings; maintaining logs of drawings and requests; advising on concrete pours and coordinating slump/compaction testing; inspecting field installation, observing work methods for efficiency improvements; and complying with safety policies while supporting a broad range of construction management activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field, or the equivalent education and experience
- Good written and oral communication skills
- The ability to read and understand blueprints
- Understanding of OSHA and company safety requirements
- Working knowledge of Word and Excel
- Willingness to modify plans and behavior to meet goals (flexibility)
- Cooperation and teamwork skills
- Spanish command comprehension (preferred)
- One year previous field experience preferred (not mandatory)
