Job Summary
Design cost-effective control solutions for building automation systems by applying engineering principles to hardware and software design activities. Obtain, review contract documents, and incorporate mechanical plans, specifications, and equipment submittals into automation system designs. Create installation, submittal, and as-built drawings while generating operation and maintenance manuals. Conduct job surveys, review equipment submittals, and transition documents to the field for wiring, programming, and commissioning. Maintain knowledge of Trane Controls products and third-party devices to support BAS technicians with graphic development and test startups. Investigate customer concerns, implement corrective actions, and provide feedback to ensure satisfaction. Work onsite Monday through Thursday with optional Friday location flexibility, requiring a valid driver's license and familiarity with HVAC systems and building automation protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Construction or Engineering Technology, or other related areas
- three (3) plus years of experience in the HVAC industry performing project management or estimating roles
- equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Familiarity with operation and design of HVAC Systems, Building Automation Systems, and/or Temperature Controls
- Familiarity with the concepts of new construction and renovation/retrofit, performance contracting, and service project management
- Windows operating system and Microsoft Office product knowledge
- Experience with a drafting/ design program
- Understanding of industry standard protocol and requirements for integration
- Understanding of IT infrastructure and network architecture
- Some travel to construction sites within the district to determine controls solutions
- Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not limited to: DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years
- Monday to Thursday, work onsite with your colleagues
- Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires
Desired Qualifications
