Job Summary
Project Engineer to manage ground improvement, foundation and shoring projects in North Vancouver; assist in daily operations of ground improvement, foundation and shoring projects with focus on quality, safety and timely delivery; review and interpret geotechnical reports focusing on bearing capacities, settlement tolerances, and groundwater control for deep foundations; coordinate pile load tests, PDA testing, CPT, and static load tests; oversee installation and inspection of piling, stone columns or caisson works; liaise with geotechnical consultants on issues like unexpected soil layers, obstructions, or ground settlement exceeding allowable limits; collaborate with subcontractors and vendors to align schedules and meet deadlines; mentor junior staff and perform field assignments; uphold and promote HSE standards; benefits include competitive base salary with performance bonus eligibility, RRSP plan contributions, annual wellness allowance, flexible work schedule, comprehensive benefits, and growth opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
- Registered or eligible for registration with APEGBC or ASTTBC
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience in geotechnical engineering
- Expertise in ground improvement techniques, foundations, earth retaining structures, and driven piles
- Strong background in contract management, scheduling, and financial oversight
- Familiarity with government approvals and trade standards
- Excellent communication, leadership, and time management skills
