Job Summary
Design and detail parts and assemblies using 3D and 2D software, then generate documentation including drawings, bills of material, and design files to facilitate manufacture. Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and customers to satisfy design requirements, while generating project planning documents to communicate status. Interface with cross-functional teams to manage drawing and BoM workflows, shop drawings, timeline generation, cost management, in-shop acceptance testing, and field commissioning. Guide and coordinate efforts of other engineers and technicians as needed, delegating tasks and delivering design guidance. Communicate effectively with customers to attend and lead project meetings, and work with project management and estimating teams to identify scope changes. Travel up to 10% of time to support assigned projects and interface with external parties.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in relevant engineering discipline (Mechanical, Civil, Manufacturing, etc.)
- Bachelor's Degree
- demonstration of relevant knowledge
- minimum of five (5) years relevant experience
- minimum of eight (8) years relevant experience
- Proficient with SolidWorks
- Proficient with 2D Cad tools such as AutoCAD
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Ability to use time management skills
- Ability to multitask
- work flexibility
- Ability to learn and apply new tools
- Travel as necessary to support assigned projects
- International travel may be required
Desired Qualifications
- demonstrated understanding of one or more of the following categories: Design knowledge and component selection of sheet metal fabrication (material specifications, manufacturing processes, equipment capabilities)
- demonstrated understanding of one or more of the following categories: Design knowledge and component selection of piping systems (pumps, valves, filters, fittings, ASME and AWS specifications)
- demonstrated understanding of one or more of the following categories: Design knowledge and component selection of refrigeration systems (compressors, valves, evaporators, condensers)
- demonstrated understanding of one or more of the following categories: Design knowledge and component selection of industrial ventilation systems (industrial blowers, valves, ductwork, ASHRAE and NFPA specifications)
